EXPERIENCE David A. Bakst is the chairman of the insurance agent, broker and insurance regulatory practice group of the law firm of Morrison Mahoney LLP, headquartered in Boston, MA with eight branch offices in New England, New York City, New Jersey and London. David began his career with Morrison Mahoney in 1965 and has concentrated his practice on insurance agent, broker and carrier business legal and regulatory matters. David is widely known and respected nationally as a skilled and experienced transaction and business lawyer and counselor handling insurance agency mergers and acquisitions with the large national brokers as well as assisting smaller local and regional agencies to grow and prosper through acquisitions. He also works with insurance agents and brokers to find the right buyer, negotiate favorable transaction arrangements and to develop and implement agency perpetuation or retirement arrangements as the need may be. Morrison of the book published by Insurors Press entitled Insurance Agency Purchases and Mergers and a contributing author of A Guide to Perpetuation published by Insurance Marketing Services. Following law school, David obtained the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and became an underwriting member of Lloyds of London for more than 10 years.
